I do love Square Enix/Square Soft/Square/Whatever-Their-Name-Is-Now. Their games are always interesting and challenging, the characters are always engaging, and there is always plenty of "Foe Yay" (Explanation) to be had --and then shipped later!
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time is the only one of the Star Ocean games I've played. I'll admit it has kicked my butt and hard, but I love the dichotomy of the characters on the same team --Fayte, who will follow the rules to the point of stupidity but can destroy a fleet of enemy ships with a tantrum; Maria, who acts like an emotionless gynoid but can basically destroy the existence of anything that gets in her way; Albel, the blood knight with a death wish from an under-developed planet; Nel, who's also from the same planet as Albel but is pretty much his sworn enemy... and these are only my favorite characters to have in my party!
It also helps that the English voice actor for Albel is the same as the one for Hellsing's Alucard.

Of course, my theory is if you love it, write about it! My Star Ocean fan-fictions include:
- Worth Fighting For
(Fayte Leingod/Albel Nox)
Fayte has spent 364 days denying his shissou's demands for a good, hard fight. So what has changed so much that on day 365, he said yes? More importantly, does he stand any chance of surviving day 366?
