Blood + was one of my very first animes. It aired when I was young, but I also went back to it in my teenage years --during my goth/emo/I-heart-vampires phase.
One of the things I loved so much about this story was the very fresh, interesting take on vampires. They weren't Bram Stoker's vampires or Joss Whedon's vampires, the two with which I was most familiar. Plus, Haji is just... the epitome of my type, if I'm honest.
I liked the darkness of the story, as well --all of the angst just makes the characters more real to me, somehow...

- As You Wish
(Saya/Haji)
Once a year, Saya is thoroughly reminded that she is not human when her body releases massive quantities of pheromones in attempt to ensure the continuation of her species. This grates of her nerves --especially because she has realized that the man she craves the touch of will never touch her. Will this year be any different?
